Patrick, You and Carolyn welcomed me into your home as a teen, both warm and unassuming. Even one Christmas Day morning, when my home didn't seem like home, your door was open. I would have never told you this, but you intimidated me as a kid. Straight-talking, direct and authoritative. But that fear quickly became respect and admiration as it became clear to me how kind-hearted you were and how much your family meant to you. A gentle giant, through the years you became a mate.
